'Summer luvin' and 'Little bitty pretty one' by Hayden Williams.

I have loved doing Hayden Williams drawings. He is my main inspiration. He has such good imagination on hair, poses, colours and the actual garments! I love them!

My 'Enchanted' collection by Sophie Elizabeth

I know these aren't illustrations but I thought I'd share with you the collection I made in college - July 2012.
We were given an open brief for our FMP (Final Major Project)in our second year for our fashion show garments. Being as girly as I am, I chose Butterflies for my theme. I chose quite girly colours, and very light organza overlaying material with cotton underneath. I chose to do two short dresses with a small butterfly at the back with two flowing organza pieces for the butterflies wings. My main blue dress was a long dress with two wing shaped pieces at the back which attached to the finger and then could be lifted up. Inspired by Victoria's Secret wings.
I love prom/evening dresses so I based my theme around my own criteria. We start from the beginning going through each process.. choosing a theme, creating a sketchbook with tons of research, drawing up 20 designs, choosing 3, making our own dress patterns, toiling (mocking) them up in calico, sourcing our own fabrics and then, sewing them up for real.
We then look at the business side of a collection, and create our own statement supporting our collection, doing a photoshoot, creating our own swing tags and business cards and doing illustrations of our garments. This all comes together for our end of year exhibition, which is where we have our own space of a room and can bring in props and lights etc which is open to the public. After this is the end of year show, which is a fashion show showcasing BTEC year 1's work, BTEC year 2's collection, Foundation Degree year 1's work and Foundation DEgree year 2's collection. This is an amazing show, where we can pick our own music suitable to our collection and students also help model garments or help dress the models. 'Street Style' by Sophie Elizabeth

This is my own design. I have used the fabrics, colours and garments from people I have seen around London to create one outfit. The top is a loose chiffon v - neck, with pleats and hawiiaan colours (blue, yellow and green). Which is tucked into a mustard PVC pencil skirt. With blue nails and shoes.

Collection taken from a fashion weeks trend.

A

B

C
D

This weeks theme, we had to take a trend we have seen off the catwalk this Autumn and choose a high street company and 'diffuse' the trend down to what you think would appear in that chosen store.
I chose the trend 'Blush Pink' with sharp tailoring in the garments. I know I haven't used colour in my designs but I tried and I just couldnt get the right certain Blush colour and I knew I wouldnt be able to do the exact same colour for each design.
My chosen store was Topshop. Probably at least 3 others in my class will have chosen it too. However, I could really see Topshop having very sharp tailoring yet simple, pink feminine garments and can have some unusual stuff in there.

A - A round neck bodice with simple bust darts with a simple very fitted pencil skirt and a slight split in the leg.
B - A halter neck bodice with simple bust darts again, but with a fitted mini skirt and a flared peplum style hem to it.
C - A white bodice, with a geometric style skirt inspired by flower's petals.
D - A cropped polo neck jumper, teamed with a elegant very fitted pencil skirt.

'Think Pink' Hayden Williams

I absolutely LOVE this one of Hayden Williams illustrations too. I love the faces he puts on them! So glamorous. Again, I tried to work this myself using watercolours and it has come out a lot more vibrant than I was expecting so I am really happy with the result. I would just love to know how he finishes off his illustrations though. They are so clean and neat. I would love to know what media he uses too.

Swim Collection S/S 2013

This is a really old drawing and is really bad, but I've kept it on here to show my progress.
This illustration is based on the glamorous Ibiza beach party's  Hence the shoes. I took inspiration from Victoria's Secret Calender Girls segment with the massive floppy hat which I absolutely love!
I may do this drawing again to see how much my drawing techniques have changed.

Heart breaker inspired by Hayden Williams

This is one of Hayden Williams Illustrations. Its so gorgeous and one of my favourites so I tried to re-work it, but using only watercolours (I think he using crayons, markers and some editing on photoshop by the look of it) I am quite happy with the outcome and this has helped me to be motivated to carry on drawing as I was really really awful at it. But I am slowly improving.
