Pop Art Collection

Pop Art Collection -
I normally try and relate my collections back to bridal if possible as that is what pathway I am taking but as the theme this week was Pop Art it was quite impossible to put this into a bridal collection as no traditional bride would wear a Pop Art wedding dress, as it is heavily influenced by digital print.

A - This is a blue body suit with yellow digital print, and a yellow mesh gathered skirt.
B - A blue shift dress with a icon image of two hands and a ring.
C - White t-shirt dress with icon digital print words on and bright colours.
D - Paneled dress with very bright multi coloured clashing fabric, seperated by thick black lines.
E - Crop top and matching shorts in clashing colours with opposite coloured hems and digital print words.

'Summer luvin' and 'Little bitty pretty one' by Hayden Williams.

I have loved doing Hayden Williams drawings. He is my main inspiration. He has such good imagination on hair, poses, colours and the actual garments! I love them!

Bridal collection on Architecture.

The next brief had the theme of Architecture. We had to pick a style of buildings or just one building to build a collection of 20 designs. I chose St. Pauls Cathedral in London, I choose this because of the gorgeous detailing, colour and the many steps, and because of Princess Diana's marriage to Prince Charles. Which I thought was very relevant considering I was doing a bridal collection.

A - Mesh draped across a sweetheart bodice with a tiered skirt inspired by the many steps outside.
B - A short low v - veck bodice. A exaggerated peplum over a wired cage. Inspired by the dome.
C - A strapless, boned tiered dress inspired by the steps.
D - This is my favourite. A strapless coloumn dress(inspired by the coloums!) with a wired cage around the waist to the knee, inspired by the dome.
E - A slight fishtail dress with a mesh shawl with embroidered coloured thread inspired by the colours and detailing on the roof.

'Street Style' by Sophie Elizabeth

This is my own design. I have used the fabrics, colours and garments from people I have seen around London to create one outfit. The top is a loose chiffon v - neck, with pleats and hawiiaan colours (blue, yellow and green). Which is tucked into a mustard PVC pencil skirt. With blue nails and shoes.

Collection taken from a fashion weeks trend.

This weeks theme, we had to take a trend we have seen off the catwalk this Autumn and choose a high street company and 'diffuse' the trend down to what you think would appear in that chosen store.
I chose the trend 'Blush Pink' with sharp tailoring in the garments. I know I haven't used colour in my designs but I tried and I just couldnt get the right certain Blush colour and I knew I wouldnt be able to do the exact same colour for each design.
My chosen store was Topshop. Probably at least 3 others in my class will have chosen it too. However, I could really see Topshop having very sharp tailoring yet simple, pink feminine garments and can have some unusual stuff in there.

A - A round neck bodice with simple bust darts with a simple very fitted pencil skirt and a slight split in the leg.
B - A halter neck bodice with simple bust darts again, but with a fitted mini skirt and a flared peplum style hem to it.
C - A white bodice, with a geometric style skirt inspired by flower's petals.
D - A cropped polo neck jumper, teamed with a elegant very fitted pencil skirt.

Couture Bridal inspired by Roses!

This collection had to be based on Couture Roses this week. As I want to specify as much i can into bridal, I thought this theme would be perfect to do it.
I used the Roses for embellishment, embroidery, detailing, draping and the colour. I tried to step out of my comfort zones (just designing dresses I like) and these photos are the 6/20 of the ones I found the most different.

A - This dress was inspired by 1950's. Its a short lilac dress with lots of tulle. It has fabric roses embroidered on the bodice, a satin waistband and cascading roses into the skirt.
B - Off the shoulder dress, with a fitted bodice and a rose detailing on the left corner with gathers of the skirt falling away from it.
C - This is my favourite. A vintage feel to it. A boho chic inspired dress. Very thin straps with a slightly gathered skirt with fabric roses all around the hem. Completely backless.
D - This is a very prom dress inspired one. Very short pink dress, with a big tulle skirt. It has fabric roses on the bodice.
E - Another boho/garden wedding inspired one. Loose cami top to it, with thin straps. A fitted skirt going into a slight fishtail, and forest coloured (blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange) roses around each joining.
F - A high/low pink dress, with very exaggerated hem line. Fabric roses cover the inside of the skirt.

Tudor Rock Bridal Collection

This collection is based on the theme of mixing Classic Tudor with Heavy Rock. I found this weeks theme quite challenging and it took me all week to create 20 designs. As I am doing bridal it was hard to create elegant dresses with two of the most different topics.

A - This is one of my favourites. A massive tudor neck piece, attached to a very short rock inspired hemline. With heavy pleats and lots of netting underneath.
B - This is another of my favourites. A gold plated neck piece, attached to a very big, structured dress with a wide skirt, and a rocky thigh high split showing off studded thigh boots.
C - A very tudor dress, with a square neckline, wide sleeves, and red hems. A rocky hemline and red hems covered in studs.
D - A a-symmetrical dress with a very small jacket with connecting ruffled neck piece.
E - A fitted midi dress with square neckline, 3/4 sleeves, studded hems, and a neck ruffle used as a peplum.
F - A more simple dress, with a boned corset bodice and a neck ruffle as a peplum.

Floral Fantasy by Sophie Hudson

This is my own design. Inspired by the glamour of Ibiza's beach/club/pool party's, where wearing heels, full makeup and heavy jewellery is acceptable in the blazing sun.
This is a key hole blue swimming costume with halter neck, covered up by a mesh kaftan with tiny floral print held together by a gold belt. Matching gold cuffs, and blue and gold heels.
